How to Remove a Post in WordPress

You can remove the published or draft post in WordPress.

1. Log in to the WordPress dashboard.

2. From the Dashboard menu, go to Posts and click on All Posts.

3. Hover your mouse to the post you want to remove, and click on Trash.

You will get a message that the post has been moved to Trash.

If you need further understanding, here’s another detailed explanation of this phenomena. Let’s read on it:
⦁ Log in to Your WordPress Dashboard: Go to your WordPress website and log in using your administrator credentials.
⦁ Navigate to the Posts Section: Once logged in, you’ll be taken to the WordPress dashboard. On the left-hand side menu, hover over or click on “Posts”. This will reveal a submenu.
⦁ Select All Posts or Specific Post: From the submenu under “Posts”, you can choose either “All Posts” to see a list of all your posts, or you can select a specific category if you know where the post is located.
⦁ Locate the Post You Want to Remove: Scroll through the list of posts (if you selected “All Posts”) or navigate through the category you selected to find the post you want to remove.
⦁ Hover Over the Post: When you find the post you want to remove, hover your mouse cursor over the title of the post. This will reveal several options beneath the post title.
⦁ Click on “Trash”: Among the options that appear when you hover over the post title, you should see “Trash”. Click on this option. This will move the post to the trash, effectively removing it from your website.
⦁ Confirm the Deletion (Optional): Some WordPress installations might ask for confirmation before moving the post to the trash. If prompted, confirm that you want to move the post to the trash.
⦁ View the Trash (Optional): If you want to make sure the post has been removed, you can click on “Trash” in the left-hand menu under “Posts”. This will show you a list of all posts that have been moved to the trash.
⦁ Permanently Delete or Restore (Optional): From the trash, you have the option to permanently delete the post by clicking on “Delete Permanently”. If you accidentally moved the post to the trash and want to restore it, you can click on “Restore”.
⦁ Empty the Trash (Optional): Once you’re sure you don’t need any of the posts in the trash, you can permanently delete them all by clicking on “Empty Trash” at the top of the trash page.
By following these steps, you should be able to successfully remove a post from your WordPress website.
